Summer is almost over and it’s time to start thinking about fall fashion. While many eagerly look forward to an excuse to shop, others can’t afford to buy a whole new wardrobe just because the season and the latest fashions have changed.

If you are short on cash, but still want to look your best, there a few ways to cut costs while still maintaining your fashionista appearance.

Recycle- Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you have to pack up all your sundresses. Try wearing them with a long-sleeve shirt and leggings or tights. Cute boots and a knit hat can pull the look together in no time flat.

Layer- That cute tank top or short sleeve shirt you just bought last month would look great under a cardigan or blazer! However, be careful to not wear more than three layers at a time because this looks excessive.

Accessorize- Use lightweight scarves! Not only will they keep out a chilly breeze, but a scarf is a great way to make an outfit from last fall feel brand new. You can also keep using a neutral beach bag as an everyday carry-all.

Shoes- If it isn’t bitterly cold, you don’t have to put your sandals away just yet. While it might be a good idea to steer clear of white and cream, you can keep wearing your darker colored sandals, particularly those with a dark metallic sheen! Peep-toe pumps are also great for fall because you still get an open toe vibe with some added coverage.
